Four raft guides decided to take on a challenge, run the Class VI (officially unrunnable) Dillion Falls. Word of such an event travels fast in the whitewater community. I couldn't find a place to park in overflowing parking area designed for the occaisional sightseers. I hitched a ride in a canoe across the river, hiked over a jagged lava field to the best vantage point. I stood alongside one guy with a digital video camera and another with a Nikon F5 with a 80-200 f2.8 lens (for the non-camera geek-that is several thousand dollars in camera equipment.) Despite my comparitively low brow equipment, I got some great shots. They survived and were the talk of the town for the following week. Enjoy their foolishness.
