Lost Film Lost Film
What emotions are to be found on lost film? As a medium it is tough because you can't control what you honestly lose. Or is that not true? Perhaps we really do choose what to lose. Perhaps those things we lose are the ones we paint in negative color by not paying attention.
On the other hand, to actually lose something we have to notice its absence. Perhaps things come and go in our lives all the time, and lost items are the ones that were important to us. Maybe given enough time, the really important ones actually come back.
These photos all come from a year of film that found its way back to me. They were in the bottoms of boxes; some crushed and half ruined - others simply stored away and forgotten.

As well as the one of Dana (sp?) I'm curious to know what those zig zagging lines are and that stone hallway. I love the taxi shot and the self shot at the top reminds me of myself. Your photos are like a good stew (pardon the strange similie) that fills you up. They are packed to capacity with feeling or message.
Lost film is such a bummer...theres nothing like loading a roll into a developing tank and having someone turn on the lights, but found film, now thats cool. Great work! |
